Workforce Credentials Coalition launches new website
WDQC created www.workforcecredentialscoalition.org in collaboration with organizations spearheading the initiative: the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, Doing What Matters for Jobs and the Economy, and the North Carolina Community College System.
As industry certifications become more prevalent in the labor market, educational institutions want to form data sharing relationships with certifying entities to check whether students are passing certification exams and getting an earnings bump from these credentials. The Coalition is working toward establishing joint data standards, data sharing agreements, and a single data repository, so that information on certifications can more easily be shared with community colleges across the United States.
The WCC website has additional information on the relevance of tracking these data for workforce development, contact information for a growing network of state and national partners (see the map above), links to other Coalition resources, and will serve as a platform for future updates on the Coalition’s work, including pilot projects.
If you would like more information about the Coalition, or have suggestions, please visit the WCC contacts page.
